Bone Appetit Soup
(hearty family-style recipe)
Bone Both Concentrate:
Prep: 5-10 minutes Cook: 18 hours Total: 18 hours, 10 minutes
Makes ~4 gallons
What is Needed:
Animal Bones of Your Choice – beef, pig, deer, etc. (this particular recipe used fresh deer bones straight off the range)
Water
What to Do:
Place enough bones into a crock pot to fill it ¾ full then pour water over the bones until the noted fill line.
Place crock pot on high heat for 2 hours.
After 2 hours is complete, lower the crock pot temperature to low heat for another 2 hours.
Once this hour is up, lower the crock pot temperature once again to warm for the remaining 14 hours.
*IMPORTANT: do not allow the broth to boil*
After the total 18-hour period is complete, turn off the crock pot.
Remove the bones from the broth and dispose.
Either begin soup right away or store broth in freezable containers to be used on a later date.

Makes approximately 5-6 quarts
What is Needed:
10 cups bone broth concentrate
4 cups water
1/2 Head of Cauliflower (~6 cups chopped)
2 Heads of Broccoli (~6 cups chopped)
1/3 Head of Cabbage (~8 cups chopped)
2 Handfuls of Baby Carrots (~2 cups chopped)
3/4 Stalk of Celery (~4 cups chopped)
1 lb of Ground Beef
1/2 tablespoon Crushed red pepper (optional)
1/2 tablespoon Powdered Garlic
1 tablespoon Salt
1 tablespoon Pepper
What to Do:
Roughly chop all veggies - the carrots & celery in ½-inch chunks, the broccoli & cauliflower into individual flowerets, and the cabbage into thin slices.
Heat the bone broth in a large pot over low heat. Sprinkle in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir and let cook on down for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat add in the carrots, celery, cauliflower, and broccoli. Stir and place back on medium heat for another 20 minutes.
In a separate skillet, cook the beef until it is medium doneness.
Add in the sliced cabbage. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes over medium-high heat.
Add in the cooked beef & stir together.
How to Finish:
Remove soup from heat. Taste for preferred seasoning, add in more salt & pepper if needed to satisfy your individual palette.
Serve immediately or store in a large container for meals throughout the week.
Suggested Toppings: cheese, hemp seeds, crushed flax-seed crackers (recipe to come), crispy bacon
